Star Sport Academy Chairman, Ing Yankuba Jusu Tarawally, has praised the team’s historic debut CAF Champions League campaign, urging them to build on the experience and shift their focus to domestic glory.

The team is expected to return to Freetown on Wednesday, 28 October, ahead of their first Leone Rock Premier League fixture against Kamboi Eagles on Saturday, 31 October 2026. We have missed our opening three league matches due to their CAF Champions League commitments.

Speaking in Casablanca as the delegation set to return to Freetown after their exit against RS Berkane, Tarawally highlighted the victory over Medina United Academy to reach the second preliminary round, describing the campaign as a strong outing for a debutant.

“I’m proud of the entire team for representing Sierra Leone well. We must build on this mentality and come back stronger. Our focus now shifts to the league, where our ultimate objective is to win the title,” he said, thanking the management, coaches, players, sponsors, fans, and supporters behind the project.

Head Coach Amidu Karim also thanked the management for facilitating the continental campaign, urging continued support for his vision. He challenged the players to remain focused and work hard, expressing confidence that the team can win the league with everyone working together.
