Star Sport Academy achieved a good away 2-1 win at the Koidu Town Field in Kono Eastern Province on Sunday, with goals from Mohamed C Jalloh and Alie Ramadan Kabia in the picture.
This marks our second outing in the Leone Rock competition, following the opening draw against SLIFA FC on Monday, November 10th, at the SLFA’s ground.
A stunning goal from Jalloh, set up by striker Larry Siemon, put Star Sport Academy ahead in the 36th minute. However, the home side quickly equalised just before halftime, with Mohamed Ankar scoring from a rebound in the 42nd minute.
Shortly after the break, we reclaimed the lead with a powerful header from Alie Ramadan Kabia in the 48th minute.
Coach Amidu Karim, who has emphasised his team’s commitment to competing fiercely this season, expressed satisfaction with the victory.
“It’s always a challenge to secure maximum points away in Kono, but we played our game and followed the plan, which led to a great result,” he shared with Star Sport Academy media.
Looking ahead, our next match is scheduled against Abacha City at the SLFA’s playing ground on Saturday, November 22nd.
