Star Sport Academy players feature in Leone Stars friendly

Star Sport Academy players, skipper James Kaiyamba and defender Mohamed Sillah, were part of Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars friendly defeat to Champions East End Lions on Tuesday at the Approved School playing field.

Home-based Leone Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to present Sierra Leone champions East End Lions. Kaiyamba played the full throttle of the game as Sillah in the first period of the contest, while Dauda Bangura played in the second half for Lions.

Kaiyamba and Sillah performed exceptionally well for Star Sport Academy this season, in which we finished in seventh place.

The match served as preparation for Sierra Leone’s World Cup qualifying games next month against Guinea-Bissau and Ethiopia. Meanwhile, East End Lions are preparing for the first round of the CAF Champions League preliminary matches.

Leone Stars’ second test match is scheduled for today, Wednesday, August 27, at 5:00 PM, once again at the Approved School playing field against League runners-up Bhantal FC.
