Star Sport Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Yousuf Sillah as its Sports Psychologist and Mental Performance Coach, further solidifying its commitment to modern football development and holistic player welfare.

The club has officially unveiled Mr Yousuf Sillah, who will provide mental performance coaching and psychological support to both the Senior Team (Team A) and the club’s Youth Development Programme.

Part of his role will focus on strengthening players’ mental resilience, confidence, discipline, emotional well-being and overall performance on and off the pitch.

Born, raised, and educated in Saudi Arabia, Sillah pursued his football career in Egypt. He brings valuable international experience in football development, having worked with several clubs and most recently served as Technical Director and Mental Performance Coach at Nur Academy.

Speaking during the unveiling, the Chief Executive Officer of Star Sport FC described the appointment as a landmark achievement for the club, emphasising that modern football requires excellence not only in technical and physical preparation but also in mental strength and psychological resilience.

This historic appointment reflects Star Sport FC’s commitment to embracing international best practices and providing holistic player development, further strengthening the club’s position as one of Sierra Leone’s most progressive football institutions.
