Star Sport Academy has successfully concluded a one-day Child Safeguarding Training ahead of the launch of its 2026 Holiday Football Academy at the team’s head office in Freetown.

As preparations intensify for the Holiday Football Academy, which kicks off at the SLFA Academy on Friday, July 17, 2026, the academy has organised training to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every child participating in the programme.

The training sessions were facilitated by John Keister, Technical Director of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), and Alusine Aiah Kabba, SLFA Safeguarding Manager.

Together, they equipped staff members, coaches, parents, volunteers, and organisers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and all forms of harm throughout the initiative. For Star Sport Academy, safeguarding is more than a requirement; it is a core responsibility.

By investing in child safeguarding education, the academy is reinforcing its commitment to ensuring football remains a safe space where children can learn, develop their talents, build confidence, and enjoy the game in a secure and nurturing environment.
