Star Sport Academy captain James Kai Yamba is positive ahead of the club’s first-ever CAF Champions League match scheduled for September 5 in Bo City, Sierra Leone.

The Southern Arena is set to host the contest as we welcome the Gambian champions. Kickoff: 4 PM local time.

Our captain talked to our media team and thinks we are well-prepared for Saturday’s first leg against the Gambian team.

“Honestly, it’s a proud moment for the entire team and me. To lead this group in our first ever CAF Champions League game is a big honour. The preparation has been good. Coach has drilled us well and mentally we are set.

We are going to respect our opponents, but on the pitch, we play our football. First leg at home, we want to give our people something to celebrate and take confidence to the second leg. One game at a time.”

“We have been working hard, and I believe we are ready for the game. We are in good spirits and know it will be a tough match, but we are prepared.”

“The coaches have given all the guidance, and we as players need to come together for Saturday.”

Meanwhile, the visiting team, Medina United, has arrived in Sierra Leone, heading to their camp in the Southern Province of Bo.
