On Friday, Star Sport Academy returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ports Authority in an exciting league encounter at the Approved School playing field.
After a series of disappointing results, Star Sport showed renewed determination and attacking intent from the opening whistle.
The breakthrough came in the second half when Sheka Sesay rose highest in the box to power home a superb header from a well-delivered free kick assisted by Edward Bello Yilla in the 75th minute.
After our goal, Port Authority pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Star Sport’s defence stood firm under pressure.
“A good result but a difficult game. We tried to keep our game intact, attacking when we needed to, and eventually we scored an important goal,” Coach Karim said in a brief chat with the media team.
The win provides a timely boost for us as they climbed the league table and regained momentum in the competition.
