Ahead of Sunday’s game against Diamond Stars in Koidu Town, Kono, Star Sport Academy’s new head coach Amidu Karim spoke to the media.
Beginning the second phase of the Leone Rock Premier League, this match will our coach first game since his appointment. Coach Karim stressed that the players are totally committed after two weeks of rigorous training, greeting the press. He said he was looking forward to going back and was dedicated to nurturing his fresh players.
Many of the young players, he said, are keen to help the team and match his coaching approach. James Kai-Yamba, the skipper, expressed this same feeling and said the squad is eager to cooperate with the upcoming technical team to realize their ambitions.
Coach Amidu noted the difficulty of the assignment when asked about the difficulties presented by Diamond Stars, but he insisted his team would be competitive. He commended the previous technical team for their diligent effort and said, “My role here is to work with the remainder of the backroom staff to get more points in this second phase.” He said, “The squad deserves to be higher up the table; hence I’m here—to assist them gain more points.
Though it will be a hard match against Diamond Stars in Kono, we are ready. The boys are set to highlight their talent.
