Striker Larry Siemon nets winner against SLIFA FC

Star Sport Academy solidified its position at the top of the Leone Rock Premier League in Sierra Leone with a 1-0 victory over SLIFA on Sunday at the SLFA’s playing field.

Mohamed Buya Turay made his first start as skipper, leading us to a victory over SLIFA. Turay, Ivorian Mamadi Kone, and goalkeeper Isaac Caulker were the three players who underwent changes implemented by coach Amidu Karim from the previous match against Wusum Stars.

We started brightly, creating several chances in the opening fifteen minutes, but it was Alpha Bedor who set up Larry Siemon to score in the 21st minute, giving us a valuable lead. Siemon’s goal ended as the winner of the match, as there were no more goals from both sides.

The home team attempted to find their footing, but our defensive line held strong, and we maintained a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Following the break, SLIFA could have levelled the scoreline, but the attacker misfired. We had the chance to double our advantage, but C Jalloh was unable to take advantage.

Defender Mohamed Sillah earned the Player of the Match title for his exceptional performance in week eighteen. Despite a late surge from the home team, we successfully held on to our victory.
