After guiding the Star Sport Academy to a seventh-place finish last season, our head coach, Amidu Karim, has observed his team developing into a serious contender in this season’s Leone Rock Premier League.
Although the journey to the end of the season is a long one, he remains optimistic after his side has gone unbeaten in their opening four matches.
A brace from striker Larry Siemon helped secure a 2-0 victory over one of Sierra Leone’s most decorated clubs, Mighty Blackpool, giving a much-needed boost to their campaign and moving his team up to third in the Leone Rock standings, at least until the remaining round four matches are played.
“Firstly, I want to commend the players for a job well done against Mighty Blackpool. They played exceptionally today, and it was an important win. I also want to congratulate my technical team and executives for their support throughout this process.
“I’m pleased with our progress so far, but we must be careful not to relent. The draw with Abacha City was disappointing; however, we aimed to improve against Blackpool.”
“Every game has its own challenges, so we’re gearing up for our upcoming match against the Kamboi Eagles. We need to stay focused to keep our momentum going.”
