Star Sport Academy has scored another big win off the pitch as GIS Company Limited comes on board with strong financial support to fuel the team’s ambitions.
In a landmark gesture, GIS Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gibrill I. Camara, pledged One Hundred Thousand New Leones (NLe 100,000) to the Academy, praising its commitment to discovering and developing young football talent.
He commended Chairman Ing. Yankuba Jusu Tarawally for his vision, leadership, and tireless work in giving aspiring players the platform to achieve their dreams.
“This Academy is doing more than just producing footballers. It is building disciplined, confident, and goal-driven young men who can represent Sierra Leone on the biggest stages,” Mr. Camara said. “As a company, GIS believes in investing in dreams and creating opportunities for the next generation. That is why we are proud to stand behind Star Sport Academy.”
As part of their support, GIS also purchased 10 supporters’ jerseys from Star Sport Academy, further demonstrating their commitment to backing the team both financially and symbolically.
The jerseys were officially presented to Mr. Camara and the GIS team by Chairman Yankuba Jusu Tarawally, popularly known as Lux Cee Note, during a brief ceremony. He noted that the gesture symbolised a partnership built on shared passion for football and community development.
“This is more than just financial backing; it is a partnership in our mission,” Tarawally remarked. “With the backing of GIS Company Limited, we can continue to train, equip, and motivate our players to not only dominate locally but also make their mark internationally.”
The pledge and jersey purchase mark a new chapter in the Academy’s journey, underlining the value of collaboration between corporate sponsors and grassroots football institutions in Sierra Leone.
