Experienced attacker Mohamed Buya Turay made a memorable debut for Star Sport Academy, scoring his first goal with remarkable composure to give us a vital lead at Wusum Ground on Sunday. Four others were playing for us for the first time this season.
Turay came off the bench just a few minutes before halftime and scored in the 44th minute in Makeni, Sierra Leone. The seasoned striker was instrumental in our efforts to hold onto our position at the top of the domestic standings.
Mamady Kone, hailing from the Ivory Coast and sporting the No. 24 jersey, also put in an impressive performance. Meanwhile, Sekou Ahmed Doumbouya, a Guinean who has signed a six-month deal, showcased his skills by helping the team significantly, while Guinea’s Elsene Conte started the game off strong, making an impact right from the first whistle.
Abubakarr Yillah was also good with the ball and demonstrated a good sign when he was introduced
We extended our lead with a stunning long-range strike from Sheka Sesay, which not only doubled our advantage but also lifted our spirits for the rest of the match.
