Abdulai A. Sankoh scored an impressive long-range goal in a close Leone Rock Premier League match in our 2-1 defeat against Bo Rangers in week 26. This goal brought us back to a tie, but it was not enough to get anything from the game after the home team scored late through Abu Komeh.
The home team took the lead in the opening 11th minute through Mohamadu Lamin from a corner kick. (1-0)!
After a couple of half-chances after the recess, Star Sport Academy’s defender unleashed a powerful effort from outside the box midway through the second half, beating the Rangers goalkeeper in the 82-minute bringing our supporters to their feet.
His goal arrived at a crucial moment after the hosts had taken the lead and were pushing to claim all three points. Our team responded with determination, showing resilience and character with Sankoh’s equaliser (1-1).
But a late goal to make it 2-1 in favour of the home team ensured we walked away with nothing from the Southern Province.
We’ll be looking to get back to winning ways immediately in our next outing.
