Despite suffering two defeats and one win, Coach Amidu Karim says the West Africa Champions Cup in Kankan, Guinea, was a valuable learning experience for the team.

The tournament helped us prepare for the CAF Champions League first leg against Medina United on September 5th at the South Arena.

Making our debut in the competition, the team faced some of the best sides in the sub-region, gaining important exposure and experience along the way.

Coach Karim described the tournament as a great overall experience, highlighting the lessons learned from the three matches. He believes the team can take plenty of positives from the campaign and use the experience to improve.

The tournament has provided valuable lessons that will help the team grow stronger and prepare better for future competitions.

“It was a great adventure, and we gained valuable insights despite the results; it was an eye-opener for the technical team, players, and management, coach Karim attested.

“The West African Champions Cup had the top teams from West Africa. We lost two matches and won one, but we gathered many positives from the experience.

I believe the team will perform well against Medina FC, as the boys are eager to learn and improve. Addressing mistakes leads to growth, which is happening within the group. Our preparations have been going well, and today we have a friendly match with the national team. Overall, we are on track.”
