Ibrahim Sona Conteh’s stunning 32nd-minute goal proved to be the decisive moment as we returned to winning ways and celebrated a much-needed victory over Wilberforce Strikers in the Leone Rock Premier League on Sunday.

The match took place at the SLFA’s playing turf, where we maintained our position on the log and returned to winning ways after two defeats and two draws in the month of May.

The critical turning point came when Momoh Conteh’s perfect corner kick met Ibrahim Sona Conteh, who reacted fastest to meet it with a well-taken finish that beat Wilberforce Strikers’ goalkeeper Francis Koroma. 

After the break, the Wilberforce Strikers pushed hard for an equaliser, but our defensive formation was firm and disciplined, resulting in no further goals being scored.

Mohamed Sillah, the Academy’s standout defender, was named Man of the Match for his crucial role in holding off the Strikers’ relentless attacks.
