Star Sport Academy head coach Amidu Karim hailed his players’ determination and resilience and reaffirmed that the collective effort was key to the team’s historic place in the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League.

Karim praised the team’s collective effort, describing the achievement as a reward for their hard work and discipline throughout the two-legged tie against Medina United.

In his post-match conference, when answering a question about the club’s sudden rise after just two seasons in the Sierra Leone top-flight and under four years of existence, he noted that reaching this stage in the club’s first continental appearance reflects the rapid progress the academy has made.

The coach also urged his players to remain focused as they prepare for a tougher challenge against Moroccan side RS Berkane in the next qualifying round.
